Come join the 7th Annual Oceanside Rug Hookers Workshop, April 26, 9:00-3:30 and April 27,9:00-3:30, 1997. The center is open at 8:00 a.m. for set-up, coffee and snack!
Teacher's Jane Olson and Norma Flodman will have workshops for beginner and advanced students. Bring the rugs you are working on or order a new project. We will have a dye workshop on Sunday as well as a display of finished rugs or works in progress so bring your projects for all to see.
Angie Teal will conduct a class in finishing a rug on Saturday from 9:30 - 2:30. Don't forget to bring your binding (already washed and ironed so that it won't shrink), wool yarn to match background color, and a needle with a large eye for the yarn. You will also need scissors, a small iron and a press cloth in case you need to press your rug to lie flat. A couple of old towels would be good to use as a pad in case you need to make sure your rug will lie flat. For more information, call Angie Teal at 909-875-8996.
Jane Olson will have her shop as usual so advanced students may call her and request a special pattern and swatches for your pattern. To order supplies, call her at 310-643-5902, and ask for a catalog. You can pick up your order at the workshop and save postage charges. You can also pick up supplies or find a new pattern you want to start at the workshop. Her address is , Jane Olson, P.O. Box 351, Hawthorne, CA 90250.
Norma Flodman (Jane's sister) will be there to teach beginners and enchant you with her stories!
We will have sale and display tables on Saturday, so bring books or supplies you want to trade, sell or display. Don't forget to bring your hooking frame, cutter, scissors and the usual supplies plus paper to take notes.
We will furnish coffee and teas, Coke and Juice machines are available. Please bring a sack lunch, (we have a refrigerator if you need it). If you want to share, bring a snack for the breakfast tray.
