"Boat Race"

When my husband's father broke up housekeeping, I inherited several old hooked rugs that my mother-in-law had hooked in the 50's. They needed repair so I set about looking for a rug hooking "repair" lady. I found, serendiply (!), that I lived in the same town as Hallie Hall. I signed up for some classes and got started.

"Boat Race" is my own design. I dyed most of the wools, dying over a light blue for the blues, and an off white for the sails. It was finished in spring of 1997, in time for my grandson's 3rd birthday. It hangs on the wall over his bed. Maybe when he's older it will go on the floor!
