Hooked by Jon Ciemiewicz
Submitted February 2002

One of my first self designed/dyed/hooked pieces
(Windsong), a different color approach to an Indian
was published in Hooking Magazine as first rug on the
last page Jan/Feb 2000 edition. Since then most of my
attention has been dedicated to animals that take
considerable artistic license with color; that is
using different stark lighting and shading and color
tones other then those usually seen in nature.

The Mountain Ram that appears in the picture is one
of several pieces that have been done recently and is
currently on display at Green Mountain Rug Hooking
Studio in Montpelier, VT.

I am a registered teacher that specializes in fine cut
hooking, because of the fine shading that can be
accomplished using that technique. I will sell
patterns of previously designed pieces and will also
do custom patterns of animals and nature scenes. My
teaching specialty includes the application of color
that is outside of the usual.
